After starting a family, Joanna (CLAD's founder), felt is was the right time to turn to the next chapter in her career as well. Swapping her role as a senior project Architect in a London firm, she started CLAD studio. An acronym for Created for Living, Architecture and Design, the name really sums up what Joanna wants to achieve with the projects that CLAD undertakes. Designing properties that are both architecturally distinctive and created for living in. This also extends to ensuring the homes are sustainable and energy efficient. And now with two young, high energy boys, she really understand the rigours that modern properties go through and strives to ensure her and her team's work not only meets those needs but exceeds them.
As experienced architects and designers who are also parents, the desire for flexible working hours is something CLAD shares with their clients. Whereas 9 to 5 meetings are always possible, the team are happy, and prefer, to work around you. Scheduling meetings on evenings and weekends means you don't need to take time off to make your dream project a reality.
Joanna, CLAD's founder, is a Chartered RIBA Architect with a focus on sustainable architecture. In CLAD's short existence she has already steered the company toward a finalist position in the British Home Awards 'small house of the year - 2020' category.
